The Narragansett Cafe, affectionately known as "The 'Ganny," is an iconic Jamestown institution that has served as a gathering place since the 1940s. What makes this venue special is its rare horseshoe-shaped bar—a design feature that fosters genuine community interaction in an age when such architectural touches have largely disappeared. The atmosphere blends locals of all ages, out-of-towners, and even the occasional celebrity, all gathering in unpretentious comfort over quality pub fare and cold beer.

HISTORY
The Narragansett Cafe opened in the 1940s as a fishermen's bar, reflecting Jamestown's maritime heritage. Throughout its 80+ year history, The 'Ganny has earned eight consecutive "Best Local Music Venue" awards from Rhode Island Monthly magazine, plus multiple recognitions for best neighborhood bar. Current owners Mark and Esther D'Arezzo acquired it in 2021 for $1 million.
