OCEAN MIST

Ocean Mist is an oceanfront beach bar and music venue at 895 Matunuck Beach Road in South Kingstown, featuring direct Atlantic views with Block Island visible on clear days. This Rhode Island icon combines beach setting with professional concert programming—a rare New England combination. The casual venue offers breakfast service, local draft beers, and waterfront dining.

The Mist hosts live music nearly every weekend year-round with regional and national acts across classic rock, jam bands, and Americana. Summer shows move to the outdoor stage. Daily breakfast, full menu with burgers and flatbread pizzas. Past performers include John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band and longtime favorites like Greg Piccolo (former Roomful of Blues vocalist).

The building dates to the 1930s, originally operating as Carpenter's Bar and Grill. Kevin Finnegan, who grew up summering in Matunuck, purchased it in 1988 and transformed it into South County's premier concert venue. Despite damage from nor'easter storms, the Mist remains at its original location. In recent years it was officially recognized as a Rhode Island icon.
