THE 133 CLUB

The 133 Club is a neighborhood bar and live music venue in East Providence known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of the beloved "Cheers" TV bar. The venue was revitalized in 2022-2023 under new ownership by Sharon McCarthy, featuring thoughtful renovations that expanded the space and added charming outdoor seating. The bar serves quality food and cocktails alongside its main draw: live entertainment attracting a diverse crowd seeking a community-oriented venue.

Regular programming includes "Our Church" special Sunday events and live band karaoke where guests perform with professional backing. The venue hosts live shows five nights a week with themes ranging from traditional live music to drag shows, psychic readings, and comedy. Recent renovations created both indoor seating and outdoor patio areas.

The 133 Club opened in 1967, originally located at 133 Gano Street in Providence (from which it took its iconic name). The venue established itself as a "cozy refuge" reflecting communal, no-frills bar culture. In 2022-2023, Sharon McCarthy acquired the venue and initiated significant renovation, transforming it from a traditional neighborhood bar into a regional destination for live entertainment.
