BURLINGTON
ARTSRIOT DISTILLERY
ABOUT
ArtsRiot is a music venue, restaurant, gallery, and distillery space at 400 Pine Street in Burlington's South End Arts District. The venue had a capacity of approximately 280 for performances and 120 for seated bar service. The industrial-chic space combined live entertainment with food, craft cocktails, and visual art.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Programming ranged from local indie acts to touring bands, with the space also hosting the popular Truck Stop outdoor food truck rally in summer months. ArtsRiot functioned as a multi-use cultural hub with rotating art installations and a New American food menu. The venue also housed Liquid Arts Distillery, making it Burlington's first operating distillery.
HISTORY
Cofounders PJ McHenry and Felix Wai established ArtsRiot in 2013 as a South End food and entertainment hub. Higher Ground co-owner Alan Newman purchased the business in July 2020 and added the distillery component. The venue rebranded as The District VT in 2025 but closed permanently weeks later, with the space slated to become the SEABA Center.
