Contois Auditorium is a civic performance space on the 2nd floor of Burlington City Hall at 149 Church Street in downtown Burlington. The auditorium has a floor capacity of 160 and a balcony capacity of 170, with a stage measuring 31 by 18 feet and a floor area of 62 by 38 feet. It is managed by Burlington City Arts and available for public and private rentals.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The auditorium hosts a mix of concerts, film screenings, artist markets, workshops, meetings, and community events. The space is adjacent to the BCA Center and serves as a civic gathering point for cultural programming in downtown Burlington. Events range from Vermont Symphony Orchestra performances to the Vermont International Film Festival screenings.
HISTORY
Contois Auditorium is housed within Burlington's City Hall building, which was completed on May 12, 1928. The auditorium has served as a public assembly and performance space for nearly a century. Its location on Church Street, at the heart of Burlington's pedestrian marketplace, makes it one of the most centrally located performance venues in the city.
