FLAGSHIP PREMIUM CINEMAS
ABOUT
Flagship Premium Cinemas was a 9-screen multiplex located at 142 Merchants Row in Rutland, Vermont. The venue served as the primary first-run movie theater for the Rutland area. Note: This location permanently closed in 2021 and has not reopened. The Flagship Cinemas chain continues to operate locations in Maine, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New York, but the Rutland location is no longer among them.
WHAT TO EXPECT
When operational, the theater showed first-run Hollywood films across its nine auditoriums. Flagship Cinemas is a regional chain known for offering affordable ticket prices and a straightforward moviegoing experience. The Rutland location served a market area that included much of central Vermont.
HISTORY
The Rutland location was reopened by Flagship Theatres on December 17, 2009 after upgrades to the facility. The theater closed on March 16, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the circuit made the closure permanent in 2021. As of 2026, the Rutland area lacks a dedicated multiplex cinema, leaving residents to travel to other Vermont towns for first-run film screenings.
