HOOKER-DUNHAM THEATER

Hooker-Dunham Theater & Gallery is a 99-seat black box theater with a 250-square-foot stage located at 139 Main Street in Brattleboro, Vermont. The venue is situated one floor below street level and is accessible only via stairs. An integrated 1,000-square-foot gallery space presents monthly rotating exhibitions of two- and three-dimensional artwork.

The theater hosts a varied lineup of music, film screenings, theater productions, comedy (including open mic nights), and community events. The gallery features monthly shows by local and regional artists. The intimate below-street-level setting creates a distinctive atmosphere for performances, with full theatrical lighting, sound, and projection systems.

The Hooker-Dunham has served as a community arts space in downtown Brattleboro for decades, providing an accessible venue for local and touring performers. The theater has connections to the New England Youth Theatre and the Vermont Theatre Company, with its managers having deep roots in the Brattleboro theater community. The space is named for the historic Hooker-Dunham building in which it is housed.
