BRATTLEBORO
THE STONE CHURCH
ABOUT
The Stone Church is a live music venue housed in a restored 1875 Victorian Gothic church at 210 Main Street in downtown Brattleboro. The flexible space holds 150 to 300 depending on configuration, with the main stage slightly raised from the floor. The venue serves as southern Vermont's primary destination for touring and regional live music.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Programming focuses on live music across genres with a full bar and locally-sourced bistro menu. The sanctuary features original stained glass windows, an Estey organ, and Scandinavian stenciled walls and ceiling, with the stage built from old pews. State-of-the-art sound and lighting systems were added during the 2015 renovation.
HISTORY
The building served as the All Souls Unitarian Church until the 1960s, when it closed. The current owner's father acquired the church in the 1970s, and it was used for offices and manufacturing for years. Concert use began around 2003, and a full-scale renovation in 2015 transformed it into a first-class music venue with professional sound, lighting, bar, and kitchen facilities.
