PROVIDENCE
BUTTONWOODS BREWERY
ABOUT
Buttonwoods Brewery is a craft lager-focused brewery that sets itself apart by emphasizing traditional German and Czech lager styles rather than ubiquitous IPAs. The brewery relocated to a 7,500-square-foot space in Providence's Valley neighborhood in summer 2024, tripling in size while maintaining its warm, community-oriented vibe through eclectic mismatched furnishings and vintage arcade games. The space shares quarters with Screaming Unicorn restaurant offering wood-fired pizzas.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Visitors experience a spacious taproom with rotating draft selections and a historic wood-fired pizza oven built into the original building's chimney. Regular programming includes trivia nights, vinyl nights, live music, and drag shows, with outdoor seating available in warmer months.
HISTORY
Buttonwoods was founded in 2016 by owner and head brewer Morgan Snyder, opening in 2017 from a 2,500-square-foot taproom in Cranston. They relocated to the historic former location of Revival Brewing Company in 2024 after expansion challenges at the original site, now operating a ten-barrel brewing system that dramatically increased production capacity.
