ABOUT
Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) is a 3,100-seat historic theater in downtown Providence, the second largest venue of its kind in the country. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this opulent space features Art Deco design with chandeliers and marble columns, earning it the nickname "The Jewel of Weybosset Street."
WHAT TO EXPECT
PPAC presents touring Broadway productions, concerts, comedy, and special events. Expect a grand theatrical experience with excellent acoustics and sightlines. The venue has launched 24 national tours since 2008 and ranks among Pollstar's top venues worldwide.
HISTORY
Designed by Rapp & Rapp, the theater opened October 6, 1928 as Loew's Theatre. Over 14,000 people attended opening day just to see the opulent interior. Nearly demolished in 1977, it was saved by Mayor Buddy Cianci and community leaders. Past performers include Queen, The Doors, and Fleetwood Mac.
