PROVIDENCE
THE PARLOUR
ABOUT
The Parlour is an 85-capacity live music venue and bar on North Main Street in Providence's artistic corridor. Founded November 1, 2012 by Gregory Rourke, Aaron Jaehnig, and Robert Yeremian, the venue was conceived as "a club that celebrated diversity" with a philosophy of supporting local musicians through guaranteed performance rates rather than door splits.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The Parlour operates seven days a week with live entertainment spanning reggae, funk, jazz, punk, rock, hip-hop, and Americana. The award-winning Tuesday open mic (hosted by Corinne Southern) and weekly "Foundation Mondays" reggae series are local institutions. Casual, divey, affordable drinks, and friendly staff.
HISTORY
Born from the closure of The Living Room, the founders chose the North Main location (previously the Penalty Box) and built a space celebrating musical diversity. The Parlour has become a champion of Providence's independent music scene, hosting community events like Block Parties and memorial concerts honoring local musicians.
