RANDOLPH
Randolph is a suburban community of roughly 35,000 residents in Norfolk County, situated 15 miles south of Boston at the junction of Routes 128 and 24. Originally a leading 19th-century boot-manufacturing center, the town transitioned to residential life as the shoe industry declined. MBTA commuter rail serves the Holbrook/Randolph station.
Showcase Cinema de Lux Randolph anchored the town's entertainment options as a 16-screen, 4,200-seat multiplex with IMAX and MX4D screens. The theater was one of the busiest in the Showcase chain. For live music, Boston and Quincy venues are a short drive north.
You can expect a diverse, family-oriented suburb with dining options ranging from Vietnamese restaurants to longstanding Italian spots. Blue Hills Reservation borders the town to the north, offering trails and Ponkapoag Pond.
Tip: Route 24 and Route 128 make Boston and South Shore venues easily accessible. Check Quincy and Brockton for additional live entertainment nearby.
