COLLINSVILLE
Collinsville is a village within the town of Canton, built along the Farmington River around the Collins Company axe factory founded in 1826. Budget Travel once named it one of America's ten coolest small towns.
Bridge Street Live opened in 2010 inside a renovated 1868 lumber building with art-deco styling and river views. You can catch blues, jazz, folk, and tribute acts in a venue that trades on intimacy and sound over capacity.
A former company town where the factory housing, church, and bank the Collins brothers built now serve a walkable village of galleries, restaurants, and the Farmington Valley Greenway rail trail along the river.
Tip: The Farmington River Greenway runs right past Bridge Street Live — bike or walk in if you are staying in the Canton area.
