BRIDGEPORT
Bridgeport is Connecticut's most populous city, sitting at the mouth of the Pequonnock River on Long Island Sound. Known as the Park City for its 1,300-plus acres of public green space, it has pivoted from its industrial past toward waterfront entertainment.
Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater is an open-air pavilion on the waterfront that runs 75-plus events per season through a Live Nation partnership. Total Mortgage Arena hosts arena-scale concerts and sports. Park City Music Hall and Bijou Theatre handle mid-size bookings in the downtown core.
Klein Memorial Auditorium covers classical, dance, and community programming. Downtown Cabaret Theatre runs dinner-theater and cabaret-format shows. The Black Rock neighborhood along the harbor has its own bar-and-gallery corridor on Fairfield Avenue.
Tip: Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater sits next to the Metro-North Bridgeport station, so you can take the train in from Stamford or New Haven and walk to the venue.
