The Great Cedar Showroom is a 1,400-seat intimate performance venue inside Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Formerly known as the Fox Theater, it was renamed to help guests navigate the sprawling resort complex. The venue features plush seating, clean sightlines, and acoustics tuned for both comedy and live music.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The Great Cedar Showroom programs a mix of comedy, classic rock, country, and tribute acts in an intimate setting. Recent and upcoming performers include Eli Young Band, Candlebox, Shaun Cassidy, Clint Black, and Larry the Cable Guy. The box office opens only on event days, with tickets available through Foxwoods' website.
HISTORY
The venue is part of Foxwoods Resort Casino, founded by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation in 1986 as a bingo hall and expanded into a full casino in 1992. As entertainment became a major draw, the resort developed multiple performance spaces. The Fox Theater was rebranded as the Great Cedar Showroom, with "Great Cedar" referencing the culturally significant cedar tree in Pequot tradition.
