ABOUT
The Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts is the largest college-based presenting program in New England, located at 2132 Hillside Road on the University of Connecticut campus in Storrs. The center seats over 2,600 people and also houses the 485-seat Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre and the Jorgensen Gallery.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Jorgensen presents 25 to 30 artists and ensembles annually, drawing 65,000 to 70,000 visitors each year. Programming spans music, dance, theater, and special events, featuring national and international touring acts. The Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre hosts productions by the Connecticut Repertory Theatre.
HISTORY
Named for UConn's longest-serving president Albert Jorgensen, the center opened in December 1955. It has served as the primary performing arts presenter at UConn for nearly seven decades, hosting a wide range of professional artists while supporting the university's academic arts programs.
