The venue also includes the Poli Club event space and Webster Hall for rentals.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The Palace Theater hosts Broadway touring productions, concerts, comedy, community events, and a Spotlight Series of speakers and presentations. The theater also operates after-school arts education programs and high school internships. The venue is available for weddings and private events, leveraging its ornate historic interior. Off-stage events in the Poli Club provide a more intimate setting for smaller performances and gatherings.
HISTORY
The Palace Theater was built in 1921 to a Renaissance Revival design by Thomas W. Lamb and opened on January 28, 1922. It was part of the theater empire of Sylvester Z. Poli, who controlled as many as thirty theaters across the northeastern United States. The theater closed in 1987 and stood shuttered for eighteen years before a $30 million restoration by the Tomasso Group returned it to operation in 2004. The building's ornate plasterwork, grand foyer, and period details were carefully preserved during the restoration.
