PRATT & WHITNEY STADIUM AT RENTSCHLER FIELD

Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field is a 40,000-seat outdoor stadium located in East Hartford, Connecticut. The stadium sits on the former Pratt & Whitney aircraft engine manufacturing site and serves primarily as a football and soccer venue. It is the home field of the University of Connecticut Huskies football team and can expand to 50,000 seats with additional infrastructure.

The stadium hosts UConn football games, major soccer matches, and occasional large-scale concerts. The facility includes modern amenities, luxury suites, and ample parking on the surrounding grounds. Its location along the Connecticut River provides easy highway access from I-84 and I-91.

Pratt & Whitney Stadium opened in August 2003 on a 73-acre section of the former Rentschler Field, which had been a Pratt & Whitney aircraft engine testing facility. The stadium was built specifically to give UConn's football program a dedicated home venue as the university transitioned to Division I-A (now FBS) competition. The naming rights reflect the site's aviation heritage.
