ABOUT
The Side Door Jazz Club is a 75-seat acoustically engineered listening room located inside the Old Lyme Inn at 85 Lyme Street in Old Lyme. The venue was designed in collaboration with Sennheiser to create an intimate, high-fidelity environment for jazz performance. Side Door ticket holders receive a 10% discount on dinner at the adjacent Old Lyme Inn restaurant.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Programming focuses exclusively on jazz with performances by nationally and internationally recognized artists. The intimate seating and precision acoustics make every seat a premium listening experience. The venue has been recognized by artists, fans, and critics as one of the top jazz rooms in the country. The club pairs naturally with the inn's restaurant and overnight accommodations.
HISTORY
After purchasing and revitalizing the historic Old Lyme Inn in 2011, owners Ken and Chris Kitchings sought advice from jazz figures George Wein and Buster Williams to create their ideal jazz venue. The Side Door opened in 2013 with a performance by the late George Wein and has since been hailed as one of the world's finest intimate jazz venues.
