WALLINGFORD
TOYOTA OAKDALE THEATRE
ABOUT
Toyota Oakdale Theatre is a 4,803-capacity indoor concert venue located at 95 South Turnpike Road in Wallingford, Connecticut. Operated by Live Nation, the theater features auditorium-style seating and is one of Connecticut's premier destinations for large-scale touring concerts. The venue also hosts private events and corporate functions.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The Toyota Oakdale Theatre programs major national touring acts across rock, pop, country, comedy, and family entertainment. The theater's auditorium configuration with fixed seating provides a more traditional concert experience compared to standing-room venues. The venue is accessible from I-91 and serves audiences from the greater New Haven, Hartford, and Waterbury markets.
HISTORY
The venue opened in 1954 as an open-air theater-in-the-round with 1,400 seats, founded by Ben Segal. In 1972, a wooden dome replaced the original tent, doubling capacity to 3,200. A $21 million renovation in the mid-1990s removed the central stage and converted the venue to auditorium-style seating. The renovated theater debuted on July 7, 1996 with a Brooks & Dunn concert. The venue has operated under several names reflecting sponsorship deals, with Toyota holding the current naming rights.
