SOUTH PARIS
South Paris is an Oxford Hills town where Celebration Barn on Stock Farm Road has nurtured physical theater since 1972. Founded by world-renowned mime Tony Montanaro, the barn presents variety shows, concerts, dance, storytelling, and film alongside summer workshops and artist residencies.
Celebration Barn operates on an 11-acre property, presenting a summer season of performances that span circus arts, clowning, physical comedy, and music. The workshops and residencies draw physical theater artists from across the country, and the public performances showcase both visiting professionals and developing artists.
South Paris is a small, rural town, and Celebration Barn occupies a unique niche — there is nothing else quite like it in Maine. The programming is unconventional and family-friendly, and the barn setting is informal and welcoming.
Tip: Celebration Barn is on Stock Farm Road. The summer season (late May through early September) is when the schedule is fullest — check their website for specific dates.
