HARTFORD
XFINITY THEATRE
ABOUT
Xfinity Theatre (now officially The Meadows Music Theatre) is a massive indoor/outdoor amphitheater located at 61 Savitt Way in Hartford, Connecticut. The venue has a total capacity of 30,000, with 7,500 covered seats and an additional 22,500 on the lawn, making it one of the largest amphitheaters in the United States. The venue operates seasonally during the summer concert season.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The amphitheater hosts major touring headliners across rock, pop, country, hip-hop, and classic rock genres during its summer season. As a Live Nation operated venue, it attracts arena-scale acts that can fill its enormous capacity. The covered pavilion provides a traditional concert experience while the expansive lawn offers a more casual setting with views of the stage via large video screens.
HISTORY
The venue opened in 1995 as the Meadows Music Theatre and has undergone multiple name changes including ctnow.com Meadows Music Theatre, New England Dodge Music Center, Comcast Theatre, and Xfinity Theatre (adopted in 2013). SFX (a Live Nation predecessor) purchased the venue in 1997. The venue has reverted to its original Meadows Music Theatre name under the current naming arrangement.
