HARRISON
Harrison is a Lakes Region town in western Maine where Deertrees Theatre has operated as a summer performing arts venue since 1936. Now in its 89th season, the theater hosts plays, musicals, concerts, and the Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival from June through September in a wooded setting off the beaten path.
Deertrees Theatre presents the Deertrees Theatre Festival alongside the Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival and a BackStage Gallery featuring local artists. The Salt Lick Cabaret provides an intimate backstage performance space for up to 60 patrons. The Salt Lick Cafe serves beer, wine, and snacks before shows.
Harrison is quiet and rural, and Deertrees is a seasonal destination venue that rewards the drive. The theater's wooden construction and forest setting create a warm acoustic environment, and the programming mixes professional productions with a community arts spirit.
Tip: Deertrees is on Deertrees Road, off the main routes. The season runs June through early September — check their calendar and book ahead for popular shows.
