HISTORY
Celebration Barn Theater was founded in 1972 by Tony Montanaro, a world-renowned mime performer and teacher who moved from Woodstock, New York to Maine. The property was a former horse farm purchased in 1971. For over two decades, Montanaro's Celebration Mime Ensemble used the Barn as home base while touring. Montanaro passed away in 2002. David Bruin became executive artistic director in 2021.
