HANNAFORD HALL
ABOUT
Hannaford Hall is a 520-seat lecture and performance hall on the University of Southern Maine's Portland campus at 88 Bedford Street. The venue features ground floor and mezzanine seating and is located within the Abromson Community Education Center, which opened in 2005. An attached 1,200-car parking garage provides convenient access.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The hall hosts public forums, lectures, concerts, and conferences. Portland Ovations and other arts organizations use the space for touring performances. The venue offers state-of-the-art AV, accessible seating, and wheelchair accommodations on both levels.
HISTORY
The Abromson Center was named after former Portland mayor Linda Abromson and her late husband, state senator Joel Abromson. The building was the first in Maine to earn LEED Gold certification for its environmentally sustainable design. It was designed by the architectural firm Einhorn Yaffee Prescott and includes the Alumni Skywalk pedestrian bridge across Bedford Street.
