MILBRIDGE THEATRE

Milbridge Theatre is a 210-seat performing arts venue and community arts center located at 26 Main Street in the small coastal town of Milbridge, Washington County. The 5,000-square-foot facility is the second-largest climate-controlled and handicapped-accessible performing arts auditorium in Washington County. It screens films and hosts live events.

The theater screens current and classic films and hosts community events. Programming serves a rural coastal community in Downeast Maine. The venue operates as both a movie theater and community arts center, providing cultural programming in an area with limited entertainment options.

The original building opened as the Colonial Theatre in 1937 with approximately 350 seats and operated with stage shows and film until 2014, when it closed after the death of longtime owner Dave Parsons. A community effort led to the construction of a new facility that officially opened on August 12, 2023, preserving the theater's role in the town.
