The Portland Players is a community theater located at 420 Cottage Road in South Portland. The theater seats approximately 300 patrons in an air-conditioned venue. It is the oldest community theater in Maine and the second oldest known community theater in New England.

HISTORY
The Portland Players was founded in 1931 as the Portland Dramatic Guild. It has operated continuously for over 90 years, producing community theater in the greater Portland area. The company established itself as a fixture of Southern Maine's theater scene through decades of consistent programming.
