UNITY COLLEGE CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
ABOUT
FLAG: OWNERSHIP CHANGED. The Unity College Center for the Performing Arts (UCCPA) is now the Clifford Arts & Student Center ("The Cliff"), operated by the Ecology Learning Center in Unity, Maine. The facility includes a 200-seat theater, commercial kitchen, dining space, and ceramics studio. It was built from a 100-year-old barn and attached farmhouse.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The venue hosts music events, film screenings, and educational workshops for students and community members. Programming includes an eclectic mix of live performances, lectures, and D.I.Y. workshops. The facility also serves as a student center for the Ecology Learning Center charter school.
HISTORY
The center was built in 2000 by philanthropists Bert and Coral Clifford with lead construction by John Sullivan. It was gifted to Unity College in 2007 and served as UCCPA for years. In 2024, the facility was transferred to the Ecology Learning Center by Unity Environmental University. The venue continues to host public performing arts events under its new stewardship.
