WESTBROOK
WESTBROOK PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
ABOUT
Westbrook Performing Arts Center (WPAC) is a 1,000-seat performing arts theater at 471 Stroudwater Street in Westbrook, Maine, just minutes from downtown Portland. The venue opened in 2010 as a state-of-the-art facility and operates as both a community and touring performance space.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Programming includes music, dance, theater, comedy, and film. The venue hosts ballet companies, Broadway touring productions, and concert acts. Community functions and school events round out the calendar. The WPAC serves as the greater Portland area's mid-sized performing arts center.
HISTORY
The Westbrook Performing Arts Center was funded entirely by the citizens and businesses of Westbrook and opened in March 2010. Past performers have included artists such as Colin Hay, and the venue has hosted touring productions of Broadway musicals. The center fills a role as an accessible performing arts destination outside Portland proper.
