ABOUT
The Berklee Performance Center is a 1,215-seat concert hall at 136 Massachusetts Avenue in Boston, operated by Berklee College of Music. The venue features state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems with full multimedia capabilities.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect a professionally run listening room environment hosting approximately 200 events per year, ranging from student recitals and faculty concerts to nationally touring jazz, world music, and pop artists. The acoustics and sight lines are designed for serious music appreciation.
HISTORY
Berklee purchased the former Fenway Theatre in 1972 and rechristened it the Berklee Performance Center with a grand opening on April 5, 1976. The venue has hosted recordings by Talking Heads, Chick Corea, Sonny Rollins, and Bill Frisell, among many others.
