The Crystal Ballroom at Somerville Theatre is a 500-capacity live event venue in Davis Square, Somerville, Massachusetts. The renovated ballroom is located in the historic Hobbs Building, home of the Somerville Theatre, and is steps from the Davis Red Line T stop. An adjoining lounge features a full-service bar and additional seating.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The space hosts live music, comedy, burlesque, community theatre, speaking engagements, and film festivals in both standing-room and seated configurations. The venue features a state-of-the-art concert audio and lighting system. Events are ticketed through Live Nation and Ticketmaster.
HISTORY
The Crystal Ballroom was created during the COVID-19 pandemic closure of the Somerville Theatre when screens 4 and 5 were restored into the ballroom space. The Somerville Theatre itself was built in 1914 by Joseph Hobbs and designed by Funk & Wilcox. The Crystal Ballroom operates as a dedicated live-event companion to the historic theater.
