SPRINGFIELD
DEWEY'S JAZZ LOUNGE
ABOUT
Dewey's Jazz Lounge was a jazz restaurant and bar at 232 Worthington Street in downtown Springfield, Massachusetts. The venue was co-founded by Western Massachusetts native Kenny Lumpkin and Dr. Mark Markarian, offering Southern American cuisine paired with craft cocktails and live jazz performances. The lounge was named after co-founder Kenny's cousin, Dwight "Dewey" R. Jarrett, who passed away in 2014.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect a jazz-focused atmosphere with live musicians and bands from across New England performing on weekends and occasional weekdays. The menu featured dishes like chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits, with cocktails named in tribute to jazz legends, such as Billie's Holiday and Louis's Lemonade.
HISTORY
Dewey's Jazz Lounge opened in June 2021 with a grand opening on June 12, attended by Mayor Domenic Sarno. Over its four years, the venue built a reputation as one of Springfield's most community-centered establishments. The lounge permanently closed on April 23, 2025, due to issues securing a commercial license at the location. NOTE: STATUS SHOULD BE UPDATED TO CLOSED.
