MARIGOLD THEATER
ABOUT
Marigold Theater is a bar, dance hall, and live performance venue at 84 Cottage Street in Easthampton, Massachusetts, with a capacity of 800 people. The venue occupies a historic building originally constructed in 1910 by Henry Walz as the Majestic Theater, which featured box seats, a balcony, and a stage for vaudeville acts and variety shows.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect a diverse programming mix including Latin jazz, salsa lessons, piano karaoke, double-header jazz nights, tribute bands, and community events centered around a large dance floor. The Marigold offers a full bar with craft cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The space functions as both a performance venue and community hub.
HISTORY
The original Majestic Theater was built in 1910 and served as Easthampton's entertainment center before Henry Walz sold it in 1917. The theater burned down on February 4, 1922 and was rebuilt. In subsequent decades the building served as a movie house under various names, closed around 1988, and was later converted to a furniture workshop. The building was renovated and reopened as the Marigold Theater in February 2022 as a bar and dance hall featuring live performances.
