MASS ARTS CENTER
ABOUT
Mass Arts Center is a nonprofit performing arts organization at 888 South Main Street in Mansfield, Massachusetts, operating the 100-seat Reservoir Stage, the Morini Art Gallery, and The Academy at Mass Arts. The venue produces theater, live music, art exhibits, and educational programming.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect community theater productions, live entertainment, and art exhibitions in an intimate setting. Productions range from Neil Simon plays to rock musicals like "Rent," with volunteer actors, set builders, and technical crew contributing nearly 30,000 hours annually. Tickets are priced well below Boston and Providence rates.
HISTORY
Founded in 1993 as the Mansfield Music & Arts Society (MMAS) by Ken Butler and friends who pooled $8 into a coffee can, the organization grew from a small theater company into a multi-faceted arts center. In late 2020, the Mass Arts Center moved from North Main Street into a larger, renovated property at its current South Main Street location.
