NARROWS CENTER FOR THE ARTS
ABOUT
Narrows Center for the Arts is a multi-disciplinary arts center at 16 Anawan Street in Fall River, Massachusetts, housed on the third floor of a former American Printing Company mill building. The venue includes a 430-seat performance area, two art galleries, 11 artist studios, and a craft brewery.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Attendees can expect a relaxed, welcoming listening-room atmosphere with 20-foot ceilings and spectacular views of Battleship Cove and Mount Hope Bay. The venue is BYOB-friendly, allowing patrons to bring food and beverages including alcohol. Programming spans folk, blues, jazz, rock, and Americana from both touring and regional acts.
HISTORY
Founded in 1995, the Narrows started as a small gallery and open mic space near the waterway locals call "the Narrows." It relocated to its current mill building location and grew from 1,000 to 15,000 square feet with community support. In 2017, the organization purchased the building and tripled its footprint. The venue has hosted over 2,300 concerts and attracted 35,000 visitors in 2023.
