The Bull Run Restaurant is a farm-to-table restaurant and concert venue at 215 Great Road (Route 2A) in Shirley, Massachusetts, halfway between Boston and Worcester. The property features 7 dining rooms, 2 concert venues seating 300 and 65 respectively, an outdoor patio, and an Eli Whitney-style covered bridge. There is a $20 food/beverage minimum per person for each performance.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Programming spans jazz, rock, folk, country, blues, bluegrass, soul, and Southern rock across the two performance spaces. The larger room hosts national touring acts while the smaller room accommodates intimate shows. Dinner is served Wednesday through Sunday starting at 4 PM, with Saturday lunch and Sunday brunch service.
HISTORY
The Bull Run occupies a historic tavern dating to 1740, originally known as Sawtelle's Tavern after Obadiah Sawtelle. It served as the first stop on the Boston-to-Albany stagecoach route in the 1800s. The venue has hosted live music for over 50 years.
