HISTORY
The Norwood Theatre was originally built in 1926-1927 by the Premier Theatre Company and designed by Norwood native architect William G. Upham. It opened on August 31, 1927 for motion pictures with a stage for vaudeville and theatrical productions. The theater closed as a first-run movie house on November 2, 1997. The Fiddlehead Theatre Company reopened it on January 3, 1998 as a performing arts house. After further restoration, the theater re-opened on August 31, 2012, exactly 85 years to the day after its original opening.
