THE PORCH SOUTHERN FARE & JUKE JOINT

The Porch Southern Fare & Juke Joint is a Southern-style restaurant and live music venue at 175 Rivers Edge Drive in Medford, Massachusetts. The 8,500-square-foot space seats 250 guests including a private dining room, with a 54-foot bar and a dedicated stage for live bands. An additional 50 seats are available on an outdoor patio.

Programming features touring and local bands performing regularly across blues, roots, rock, and Americana genres. The venue includes a lounge area with two pool tables and games alongside the performance space. Nashville-native chef/owner Jonathan Post pairs authentic Southern BBQ from a 1,000-pound wood smoker with cocktails and live music in a juke joint atmosphere.

The Porch opened in July 2019 in the River's Edge mixed-use complex in Medford. Post designed the concept to celebrate the food, music, and hospitality of his home city of Nashville. The Porch permanently closed in July 2024 after approximately 5 years of operation, with its final service on July 21 and a final concert on July 26, 2024, citing struggles common to independent restaurants and venues in the Boston area.
