Theodore's is a BBQ restaurant and live music venue in the heart of Springfield, Massachusetts' entertainment district. The venue holds just under 300 people and combines authentic southern soul cuisine with nightly live entertainment. The restaurant is formally known as Theodore's Blues, Booze & BBQ.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Programming centers on blues, rock, and funk with performances virtually every night of the week. The stage hosts national, regional, and local touring acts. The full menu features southern-style barbecue and soul food alongside a full bar.
HISTORY
Theodore's has been a mainstay for BBQ and blues in Springfield since 1979. It was originally started by two men named Theodore who operated it for 20 years before owners Keith Makarowski and Keith Weppler acquired it in 1999. In 2004, the Blues Foundation recognized Theodore's with a Keeping the Blues Alive (KBA) Award, naming it the best blues club in the country. The stage has hosted artists including Taj Mahal and John Mayer.
