DERRY
Derry is the fourth most populous community in New Hampshire, sitting along the I-93 corridor between Manchester and the Massachusetts border. Known locally as "Spacetown" for being astronaut Alan Shepard's birthplace, the town has become a notable live music destination thanks to one standout venue.
Tupelo Music Hall is the draw. Originally founded in a farmhouse in neighboring Londonderry in 2004, it relocated to Derry in 2017 with a purpose-built 700-capacity room that emphasizes acoustics and sight lines. It books national touring artists across genres in a dedicated listening-room format. LaBelle Winery operates a separate event center with a winery, restaurant, golf course, and scheduled entertainment.
Derry is a drive-to destination rather than a walkable night-out town. People come specifically for the show at Tupelo and often pair it with dinner at a nearby restaurant. The venue's reputation for sound quality and artist-friendly booking draws acts that might otherwise skip New Hampshire entirely.
Tip: Tupelo Music Hall is on A Street near the downtown intersection. Arrive early for dinner options nearby, and check their calendar well in advance as popular shows sell out.
