HISTORY
The building was originally constructed as St. James Chapel in 1829, enlarged in 1866, and renamed Trinity Church. Ray and Alice Brock purchased the property in 1964, making it the setting for Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant Massacree" and the subsequent film. Arlo Guthrie founded the Guthrie Center as an interfaith church in 1991 to serve the community's cultural and spiritual needs.
