The Wellfleet Beachcomber is a seasonal beach bar, restaurant, and live music venue at 1120 Cahoon Hollow Road in Wellfleet, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod's Outer Cape. The venue is nestled in the dunes of Cahoon Hollow Beach and occupies one of the original Lifesaving Stations on Cape Cod. It operates from the Thursday before Memorial Day through the last Saturday in September.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Live music runs Wednesday through Saturday nights from late May through August, with programming spanning rock, reggae, ska, and acoustic sets. The venue is also a full-service restaurant and bar with seafood dining. Parking at the Beachcomber/Cahoon Hollow Beach lot costs $30 per day, with a voucher for $30 toward food and merchandise.
HISTORY
The Beachcomber was built as a lifesaving station in 1897 and is one of nine Life Saving Service stations built on the Outer Cape. It began hosting bands in 1978 and has operated as a summer music destination for over 45 years. The venue has been a fixture for surfers, families, beach-goers, and music lovers on Cape Cod.
