PETERBOROUGH
BASS HALL AT MONADNOCK CENTER
ABOUT
Bass Hall is a 100-seat performance and event space inside the Monadnock Center for History and Culture at 19 Grove Street in downtown Peterborough, New Hampshire. The multi-use room features a full kitchen and is handicap accessible. The hall is known for its acoustically sound properties.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Programming includes concerts presented by the Peterborough Folk Music Society, art shows, community presentations, and private events. Folk music concerts often sell out in advance. All shows are seated, and the intimate setting emphasizes acoustic clarity. The hall also hosts the New Hampshire Scottish Music Club and other community groups.
HISTORY
The Peterborough Folk Music Society, an all-volunteer nonprofit, has been bringing musicians to the Monadnock Region since 1996. In the winter of 2017, PFM began presenting concerts in Bass Hall, taking advantage of the room's acoustic properties. Over 29 years, PFM has hosted concerts at various locations around the region; Bass Hall is now a primary venue.
