HISTORY
The Colonial Theatre was opened on January 29, 1924 by Charles C. Baldwin, debuting with the silent film The Hunchback of Notre Dame. During the 1920s and 1930s, it hosted vaudeville, opera, and theater, welcoming artists such as Metropolitan Opera star Rosa Ponselle and author Thornton Wilder. A major restoration launched in 2019 culminated in the grand reopening on April 1, 2022.
