ABOUT
The Dana Center for the Performing Arts is a 575-seat venue on the campus of Saint Anselm College at 100 Saint Anselm Drive in Manchester, New Hampshire. The main performance space is the Koonz Theatre, which features continental seating. The facility serves as headquarters for the student theater group, the Anselmian Abbey Players.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Programming spans classical theater, contemporary dance, concerts, films, and the college's nationally recognized humanities program, Portraits of Human Greatness. International performances range from Indian dance to Piedmont blues to Russian classical music. Events are open to the public and geared toward audiences of all ages.
HISTORY
The Dana Center is part of Saint Anselm College, a Catholic and Benedictine liberal arts institution founded in 1889. The center is supported through partnerships with the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, New Hampshire Public Radio, and the National Endowment for the Arts. A renovation and expansion proposal has called for reconfiguring seating and adding a 200-seat mezzanine.
