HISTORY
The Hopkins Center opened in 1962 and was the first academic arts center of its kind in the United States, serving as a prototype for a generation of university performing arts complexes. It was designed by architect Wallace Harrison, who also designed Lincoln Center and the United Nations Building in New York. The building underwent a $123.8 million renovation by the firm Snohetta, reopening in October 2025 with expanded and modernized facilities.
