CONWAY
MAJESTIC THEATRE
ABOUT
The Conway Majestic Theatre is a 290-seat performance venue at 36 Main Street in Conway, New Hampshire. The theater is owned and operated by Mountain Top Music Center, a nonprofit that also runs a community music school on the building's second floor. The venue also houses the Majestic Cafe, an intimate piano bar and jazz cafe in one of the building's storefronts.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Programming includes 12 to 20 musical events annually alongside film screenings, theatre productions, and community social events. The venue functions as a multiple-arts space covering music, theatre, film, and education. Mountain Top Music Center offers music lessons and classes in the upstairs school.
HISTORY
The theater was originally constructed and opened on June 24, 1931 as the New Theatre. It was renamed the New Conway Theatre by the end of 1931, then renamed the Majestic Theatre in May 1932. The building was constructed by Leon Bolduc and originally had 480 seats. It was extensively renovated from 2017 to 2019 by Mountain Top Music Center, which reduced seating to the current 290-seat configuration.
