PETERBOROUGH PLAYERS
ABOUT
Peterborough Players is a professional summer repertory theater with an intimate 250-seat auditorium located at 55 Hadley Road in Peterborough, New Hampshire, in the Monadnock Region. The theater is housed in a converted 18th-century barn on the former Hadley Farm.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The company produces five mainstage shows each summer season from mid-June through late August, spanning drama, comedy, and musicals. Year-round Arts on Screen programming features broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera and London's National Theatre. The season includes cabarets, talk-backs, and pre-show presentations.
HISTORY
The theater was founded in 1933 by Edith Bond Stearns, who purchased the abandoned Hadley Farm. The company has been in continuous operation for over 92 years. The Wall Street Journal has described the company as representing American summer repertory theater at its most accomplished. Notable productions have earned multiple New Hampshire Theatre Alliance Awards, and the venue has hosted actors including Scott Bakula and Gordon Clapp.
