THE REX THEATRE

ABOUT

The Rex Theatre is a 300-seat performance venue at 23 Amherst Street in Manchester, NH. The space features a customizable floor plan, full bar, LED video wall, professional sound and lighting, a stage, and a lobby area. It is operated by the Palace Theatre Trust as a companion venue to the adjacent Palace Theatre.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Rex hosts live music, comedy, theater, and community events in a flexible space that can be configured for seated performances or standing-room shows. The venue includes a full bar and is available for private event rentals including corporate functions and parties. Parking is available at the nearby Victory Parking Garage with free parking after 8 PM on Fridays and on weekends.

HISTORY

The building originally served as a printing press before becoming a movie theater from the 1940s to the 1980s. After closing as a cinema in 1989, it changed hands multiple times and operated as a series of nightclubs. The Manchester Development Corporation purchased the building in 2016, and the Palace Theatre Trust entered a public-private partnership in October 2018 to revive the space. The Rex Theatre opened on October 30, 2019 as a state-of-the-art performance venue.
