Prescott Park Arts Festival is a seasonal outdoor performing arts festival held in Prescott Park on the banks of the Piscataqua River in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The park's amphitheater and stage sit within a 10-acre waterfront setting. The festival draws more than 150,000 annual attendees and injects an estimated $5.5 million into the local economy.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Summer programming runs June through August and includes concerts, a signature musical theatre production, dance performances, and art exhibitions. The festival operates on a donation-based model and offers season passes and reserved seating. An onsite restaurant, The Prop, serves food during events.
HISTORY
The festival was founded in 1974 and has provided financially accessible, multi-generational performing arts for over 50 years. Programming has included national touring acts alongside community productions. The festival is a nonprofit organization and the most prominent event held in Prescott Park.
